Gainesville Periodontists - Drs. King and Oliver - Gum Disease and Dental Implant Therapy
Periodontal disease (periodontitis) is an oral infection that involves loss of the bone and gum tissue around the teeth. It is the most common infection found in humans as well as the primary cause of tooth loss in adults. It is estimated that 95% of the population will have some type of attachment loss by the age of 65 and that 50% of the adult population has untreated moderate to advanced periodontal disease. As periodontists, we are extensively trained and uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat periodontal disease as well as the reconstruction and rehabilitation of missing gum, jawbone and teeth.
When you visit our office, your oral health is our top priority. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with the personalized care that you deserve. Within our office we provide comprehensive periodontal care, laser therapy and dental implant services in a professional and caring environment. These procedures include: periodontal therapy, laser therapy, digital 2D and 3D radiography, advanced bone grafting for preservation of the natural teeth or for the placement of dental implants, functional and cosmetic gum treatment and dental implants to replace missing teeth. Working closely with both the individual patient and the restorative dentist, our goal is the restoration and preservation of oral health as well as rehabilitation of missing teeth.
Part of our commitment to serving our patients includes providing information that helps them to make more informed decisions about their oral health needs. As periodontists, we received extensive post-doctoral training in all facets of dentistry which enable us to understand the complex connection between bone, gums and teeth as well as the function and inter-relationship of the these structures.
