Reconstructive
gum surgery
Recession of the gum tissue may
lead to loss of stable tissue on the surface of the tooth
resulting in exposure of the underlying root surfaces.
These exposed roots may cause hot and cold sensitivity
of the teeth, an increased chance for development of
cavities and distraction from the cosmetic appearance.
Gum tissue grafting enables us to build up the gum tissue
in the area of recession and provide coverage of the
exposed root surface.
