Dr.
Caleb King graduated from Duke University in
1965 and Emory School of Dentistry in 1970. He completed his residency
in 1972 at Boston University Graduate School of Dentistry, receiving
a Certificate of Periodontology as well as a Masters of Science
in Dentistry. He was the initial faculty member hired by the Department
of Periodontology at the University of Florida College of Dentistry
and has been a faculty member since 1972. Dr. King has served as
an Assistant Clinical Instructor with the periodontal graduate students
since 1978 when the graduate school was founded. He has also been
involved in numerous research projects in osseous regeneration and
implantology while at Boston University, then the College of Dentistry
and the Periodontal Disease Research Center at the University of
Florida. Dr. King is on the patent for development of Perioglas®
as a bone substitute.
In 1975, Dr. King started his private practice in Gainesville
and acquired staff privileges at North Florida Regional
Medical Center. Along with his private periodontal practice,
teaching appointment and ongoing research, he is actively
involved in the Alachua
County Dental Association, Central
Florida District Dental Association, Florida
Dental Association, American
Dental Association, Florida
Association of Periodontists,
Southern Academy of Periodontology, American
Academy of Periodontology and International
Congress of Oral Implantology serving in leadership
roles both locally and nationally.
